Family and Community History Workshop Wollotuka Institute
12/03/2015
The State Library visited the Wollotuka Institute, University of Newcastle, earlier this week to speak at a Family and Community History workshop.
The workshop held on 11 March 2015 was hosted in conjunction with the Yuraki History, Politics and Culture Node of the National Indigenous Research and Knowledges Network.
Kirsten Thorpe and Melissa Jackson spoke of their experiences of working in libraries and archives and shared advice on how to get started with family and community history research. The State Library of NSW has a helpful guide on researching Aboriginal Family History to help people when they are getting started available here.
Below are some pictures taken at the Wollotuka Institute on the day.

Thank you Wollotuka for the invitation to join the workshop.
