Call number: B 1514
Author: Huey, Alexander
Date: May 1809 - April 1810; 29 October 1810 - 21 February 1811
Description: Consisting of two edited journals dated May 1809 - April 1810 and 29 October 1810 - 21 February 1811. Ensign Alexander Huey was a junior officer of the 73rd Regiment of Foot at the time of the voyages described in the journal. After brief service with the 73rd, Huey retired to become a painter of miniature portraits. It was probably largely because of his admiration for the artist John William Lewin that Huey determined to leave the army and become a professional painter.
