This fabulous poster was created to promote a party at the Imperial Hotel, in Erskineville during Mardi Gras in 1997.

The poster is from the records of the LGBT organisation called BlackOut. BlackOut was a Sydney based, volunteer driven social group for gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual Indigenous people, their friends and lovers which was started in 1997 and wound up in 2001. This small collection records, posters and photographs were donated to the State Library of New South Wales in 2006. 

The State Library holds the extensive collection of records of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Limited 1978-1995.
