Making Connections: Wiradjuri Language and Culture Nest
02/02/2015
The Rediscovering Indigenous Languages project at the State Library has a strong focus of making connections with communities in regards to the historic language materials held in the Library’s collections.
Last month, we were fortunate to welcome Mrs Diane McNaboe, Teacher Aboriginal Language and Culture North/West Wiradjuri Language and Culture Nest to the Library to view original collection items.
The Library is currently consulting with the Wiradjuri Language and Culture nest about the development of educational resources based on Wiradjuri word lists. We look forward to working with Diane and other members of the community to share these important resources with the wider community.
