A special event for NSW Seniors Week

Have you ever wondered what sort of information is held in collecting institutions about your people? 

The State Library of NSW has an amazing collection relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and recently we have been working on ways to make those collections more accessible to the communities that they relate to.

Led by State Library’s Indigenous Services Team, Marimirang: Elders and Language at the State Library will cover the following topics:
• The State Library of NSW: an Indigenous perspective
• Revitalising languages: how the State Library is helping
• Exploring the resources that make the languages website work (http://indigenous.sl.nsw.gov.au/)

Marimirang means “trust me with it” in the Sydney language that was gathered by William Dawes through the young woman Patyegarang.
